Porsche 934 turbo RSR tamiya/revell mashup

Whatever you read here is absolutely IMO. To be clear..

I cant really resist to start do something to this subject (yesss another one).
I was really happy to read about new upcoming revell 934 model, so I took one in jagermeister livery, with the idea to place it beside my 3.0 rsr made some years ago. revell gives the option to make a nearly full open model (doors are closed) and details seems quite good, and anyway better than the big scratch I had to do on the 3.0 rsr.

A leftover from my resin kit was however a complete 934 bodyshell and many many details, basically all the externals including the nice PE grills included into japanese model.
Idea then is to place something near this lady sleeping in my showcase.

so I was really curiouys to see if finally revell did it better than my beloved tamiya, even more reading and looking around the many nice models made by several skilled famous modellers (with a huge discussion about wheels on fb ).
Opening the box I was impressed by the look and had to place it near that lonely sad tamiya body, sure this time revell spotted it ...and here comes some first disappointments..
Some pics will help better than my long bla bla

closed bonnet versus open bonnet ! yes but....where is that famous air intake under the windshield sooo typical in all 911īs ??
as well as....why there is SO big windows frames bigger than monogram porsches kits from the 70s..??

despite dimensions are nearly identical on both the models (both company know how to scale down to 24th I suppose) the revell moulds seems much less defined in lines and details. many parts looks more like a blobby plastic, probably coming covered by other plastics. Quite thick allover

so my surgeon begins (ok I mostly like to saw kit..I know..)

rear wing: also here i deeply appriciate more tamiya kit. They left all grilles and rubber parts separated from the main body (despite the engine bay is originally closed and no upper engine part is provided), while revell makes all in one piece. surely little tricky to paint properly, and of course without any panel line

windows frames are also much more precise in tamiya. very very fine plastic. japanese are really impossible to beat also in the quality of plastic..

theeeeen surgeons again
