I apologize in advance for posting a topic that's already been beaten to death... BUT Edelbrock discontinued the shocks I loved and the truck is getting bouncy!
I'm driving an 06 Silverado Crewcab, 4wd with the 5.3. I've been running Edelbrock shocks- felt great on the highway, stiffened up for performance cornering and didn't rattle my teeth out when off-road. Now it's time to replace the shocks and can't seem to find a good alternative.
I've been reading the forums from a while ago and everybody recommended the Edelbrocks. Quite a few people seemed to like the Monroe Reflex, but mentioned they're right at the weight limit for the truck.
I work on a mountain pass and do have my share of fun with the corners (I'd probably lean more towards a performance shock than anything), some light hauling (not often, but don't want to be afraid the shocks can't handle it the one time I need to throw 1000 lbs in the back)... now I know the trade-off is a stiffer ride, which is fine to a point. These Edelbrocks had a nice balance of smooth highway ride to really stiffening up when you wanted to have some fun.
What are other people driving on? Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance
