Checking your transmission fluid cold won't tell you a damn thing about it. For an accurate result, you have to check the fluid with the engine running. Bubbles in the fluid doesn't sound good, and overfilled automatic transmissions don't usually function properly. It sounds to me like you need a fluid and filter change, maybe even a full flush, which will need to be done professionally.

I saw your other post about the non functioning instrument panel and the defroster stuck on high. The panel problem would probably be an electrical problem that cuts off power to the the instrument panel. Blown fuse, bad relay, bad wiring, etc.
As for your defroster the switch is probably the issue. For now, if you want to shut it off find the fuse for the defroster and pull it out, but for a more permanent solution, that sort of thing will need someone who knows more about your basket case of an electrical system.
