There are several spring loaded contacts internally. Be careful not to loose parts that will catapult themselves across the workbench. I cleaned all contacts and 'gently' stretched out the multiple spring contacts. Switch went back together with a little trial and error, getting spring contacts to stay in right position. Plugged it back into wiring harness and instrument lights are now back to normal.
cleaning up the contacts for some is do able, some not. many times switches can be cleaned up. I just did a brake stop switch contacts had some corrosion on them.
