If you know where the various pieces of the aftermarket security system are installed, track down the starter disable relay and bypass it to see if that takes care of things. I've read about installers interrupting the fuel pump circuit instead of the starter relay, and by doing so, if the relay fails, the engine stalls and refuses to restart.
