Rotary Vee Engines

I ran across a two-cycle rotary vee engine the other day built in 1996 by Robert Sullivan of Snyder Oklahoma. According to the link which I will include, it has only 6 moving parts, has a straight line torque curve, develops 400 HP, weighs only 75 lbs and is estimated to achieve 90 MPG. Why would we not be developing this for automotive use?
