The time that the car wouldn't start back up and the fob wouldn't work either, did the starter motor spin the engine over quickly it just failed to start, or did the starter motor not spin either?

The first thing I'd do is check the condition/age of the battery. If the battery is 3 years old or older, consider changing it. The days of 5 year batteries seems to be gone.

If the battery and connections to the battery are not the issue, then you might have a problem with the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor. The CKP sensor could explain the random stalling, but would not explain the key fob failing to work.
