Door caps cover the lower half of your door, from the molding down. Basically, they help blend your doors with the side-skirts. For instance, the wings west side skirts require that you remove the rubber strips from the side of the car, and the side-skirts cover the mounting holes for the rubber strips. The door caps do pretty much the same thing, and give the door a shape to match the side skirts.
