I've from two people that lived there for a while that if you wear tennisshoes/gymshoes they instantly tag you as a tourist. Tourist hear "walking city" so they pack their walking shoes. Residence wear nicer shoes, according to folklore.
I've only recently started wearing hats... when mother nature decided to stop covering the top of my head naturally.
