Been doing it for years. Dodges, Volvos, Mazdas etc. Everything from a big block V8 to little 1.8 2.0 4 bangers. Only issues I have ever heard of a guy forgot to pull the rope back out and cranked it over. Just make sure you are on TDC on the compression stroke so the valves are closed.
