Crazy few days.

Friend had surgery at the end of November, and was renting the downstairs to a slum lord for the past 9 years or so, with no lease. He stayed at his mom's house after and since then. The slum lord decided to finally fix the kitchen floor that had holes big enough to practically fall completely through (not exaggerating in the least), along with fixing the burst pipes. While he was at it, he removed every cabinet, ceiling and walls, to repair them (overkill much?). So, the place has been unlivable, with no kitchen or any running water, since mid-December-ish.

My friend started removing his valuable property, because every time he was an extended period away from there, shit turns up stolen. Slum lord notices and demands to know what's going on, he tell him. Friend takes more stuff, and the slum lord flips. Changes all the locks on every door, including in the big garage filled with my friend's tool boxes, tells him that he owes 4 months of rent ($3,400), and he's not allowed on the property.

Skip to yesterday. He tells the slum lord that we're going to get his stuff, get the Ok as long as the upstairs room mate lets us in. An "eviction notice" on the door states he was 2 days to get his stuff and vacate the property. He seriously printed this shit off the internet and thought it meant something. We grab the rest of the important inside stuff, in the afternoon, while the slum lord is as school. We come back with more friends and a trailer, to get the tools later at 6pm...shit hits the fan. He says we're breaking into the garage and he's going to call the police. Says only way to get the tools is to clean everything out of the house. Should have let him call, but we cleaned instead. 4 hours later, and 30 bags of garbage at the curb (hope the garbage company fine his ass), we were out of there at 10pm.

Fucker never even went inside to see if we cleaned anything. Wish I had to take a shit at the time, I would have done an upper-decker.
