if you have a DX you can simply do the MPFI (multi port fuel injection) and get almost the same HP as a SI. you can also swap in either a sohc vtec 92-95 Si/EX or 96-00 Civic EX engine and use it with your tranny. the DX tranny sucks
if you wanted to upgrade you could get an 88-91 EX (sedan) auto tranny
