Re: Keyless Remote Programming - 1999 Montana Van
Turns out there is a MALL/DIC/'something else' fuse but it does not operate the BCM. There is a BCM PRGRM 10 amp fuse that is referenced in the procedure posted as a sticky on this forum. It is located in cavity 1D as referenced from the right hand side of the panel, or four cavities up from the lower right corner.
A GM dealer sent me the proc as a .PDF today. It is exactly like the proc already posted as a sticky on the forum. Tried opening all the doors, removing the BCM PRGRM fuse and then closing all the doors. Then sat in the driver's seat, inserted the key and switched from ACC to OFF and back to ACC again. Opened the door and closed it; - nothing!
I suspect the problem is in the setup of the programming mode when switching the ignition on and off. It looks like in order to get the BCM to enter programming mode requires a bit of finesse in timing the on, off, on ACC switching.
Either that, or the BCM has thrown a code and won't enter programming mode.
