Ferrari in metallic red
Hi guys,
with their "latest" cars, Ferrari has also released some new colours, among them metallic reds, which are also available at Zero Paints. Should any of you think about using them, this is what they look like.
The F12 is painted in Zeros Rosso Berlinetta, the F458 in Zeros Rosso Fuoco. RB is a single component paint, while RF – originally a triple layer paint – comes with a plain red base coat and a separate coat for the metallic effect. Both are primed with Tamiya fine grey primer and topped with TS-13 gloss clear, sanded and polished with Tamiyas coarse, fine and finishing compound.
Both kits are Fujimi, with some P/E and added accessories. Enough has been said about both kits already, so I won't add anything here.
Both colours are rather similar in their reddish tone, but due to the additional layers, Rosso Fuoco has a lot more depth, and therefore it's my favourite of the two, although it's a lot of work to apply some 14 thin layers of paint in total without major incidents. (3 primer, 3 base, 2 met, 6 clear)
The last pictures also show a comparison to Zeros Rosso Fiorano and Rosso Corsa (TS-8).
Any questions or comments are welcome!
Enjoy!
