I primed the Safari edition I am currently busy with, and the 1999 WRC I completed previously.
I use Tamiya white primer, the white primer under the paint brightens it up a little and in my opinion gives it a more correct shade.
For the photos you are looking for, did you try
www.wrc-online.net ? They have loads of Subaru photos, although I am not sure they will have what you need.
