The vent selection is controlled by vacuum. There's a switch/valve thingy to the right of the cabin air intake pipe that you probably forgot to connect a line back to. Pull off the cowl again (sorry, but you'll be quicker at it by now!) and look there. There's a small electrical connector and 2-3 (I think) small rubber vacuum tubes that connect to it. I'd bet one is loose or disconnected.
