Auto Union Type D, Revell, 1/32

Hi

after reading the biography of Alfred Neubauer I thought I might build one of the pre war grand prix cars; the choice limited to the one available Revell plastic kit of the Auto Union Type D.
Revell tried to erase "Made in England" from the moulds, but we know that it's a rebox of the old Matchbox kit The fit is therefore not that good. You have to remove much material from the tanks to make them fit and shorten the heigth of the compressors. The suspension is a bit fragile, but the gap on the top of the engine cowling seems to be correct; it can be seen on some photos of the real car as well.

One could improve the look by putting work into opening the louvres, detailing the fasteners, etc... but I was not in the mood for that

Painted with TS29, Alclad Alu, Steel and Chrom for the Wheel. Hope you like it.
