I have spliced pleanty of air lines using 1/8" compression fittings from NAPA, just use a small pin to help open up the hole in the plastic line after you cut it. Use a razor blade or sharp knife and a sawing motion to avoid really crushing the line when you cut it. The pump is under the right rear of the car, above the muffler.
