Have you tried a different key? If it is the vats system, there is a bypass for the pellet in the key. You check the resistance on that pellet, then go to radio shack or somewhere that sells resisters, buy a resister with the same resistance, Splice the resister into the proper wiring circuit. There is info all over the internet about how to do this. I don't have it right in front of me.

If the problem is elsewhere in security system, bypassing the pellet in the key won't help anything.
