The pic below shows the same demonstration piece as featured on the instructions. The part has had one application of ...powder which was applied over a black enamel base coat, and this was done over a year ago. This part has been handled and passed around at club meets and shows, the finish has not deteriorated and the finger prints have been simply wiped away. Furthermore, as you can see, a couple of decals have been applied to see if this was possible - no problem! Best results achieved when powder is applied to a slightly soft paint surface that has not fully cured. We have also discovered that adhesion is effected if the paint has been polished prior to application, the finish is likely to become patchy and easily removed when being handled.
Regarding clear coat. To be honest, the jury is still out on this one, but it is not advised to do so. We have not been able to test all possibilities as there are a great number of options when it comes to clear coat. With the lacquer clears we have tried, they tend to dull the finish and fine crazing can be detected.
