The Insight is an impressive little car to drive. During normal driving, it acts just like any other gasoline powered car and you hardly notice that it has less than four-cylinders (actually, I was impressed that it felt like many small four-bangers I've driven). When you need some extra power, the electric motor kicks in like a turbocharger and propels the vehicle forward.
What's not so impressive about it is its lack of storage space. The CRX, which this seems very similar to, was so much more practical. It had a large load area behind the front seats which the Insight does not.
For the same money, the Toyota Prius is the better car. Insights and Priuses are selling well, they're just never going to be huge sellers in these forms.
