I would've thought it was insured for more than that - that's close to standard road car money, and there's lots more of them...

And it's also great to see that the GT has a great following. I've always loved the car and was thrilled to finally meet the variant of the F1 I had yet to see, and feel very fortunate to have seen it recently up close. Some in the F1 arena, F1 owners included, believe the car to be less of an attraction than the road car due to its 'ungainly' looks and conception only to get the 1997 GTR's homologated for racing, but for me, for its rarity and aura, it's right up there with the best of the F1's.
Many thanks must go to Henry and those at Mclaren for allowing others to see the car, and for everyone who has seen and taken photo's of the car for sharing them for those who were unable to attend the event - I am looking forward to more pictures
