Thanks Tempfixit! This reminds me why I dont work on cars for a living anymore. Crazy. The car did have spark. All fuses were checked with a multitester, all good. On the advice of a neighbor who has a shop, I used carb cleaner into the throttle body to see if it would cough. he said that gas just cant get it into the throttle like the spray cleaner. He was right. Sprayed the cleaner into the throttle and it fired up. ran a few seconds but let me know that it was firing and I had fuel pump problems. As I was trying to find out if it was the pump or relay, we tried to start it one more time. The excess cleaner in the throttle backfired, as usual, and it caught the gasoline on fire under the opening of the throttle body! You know the fire extinushers that you have in case of emergency? Well, they are hard to find in 30 seconds. We scattered, one moved the good cars from behind the Mustang (it was inside the garage) one ran for water I took off my favorite coat and procedded to smother the fire. I succedded at the expense of my coat. What seemed like 30 minutes of fire fighting, was actually only 30 seconds. After the smoke cleared, we had a laugh, then just for fun tried to start the car. It fired right up! Ran perfectly! Probably better thanks to a clean throttle body. Drove the car home and to work this morning. Probably got a bad or loose relay, it will probably show up again later. But in the meantime... Darnedest day of auto mechanicin Ive had in a long time! I wish you could have been here.
