The paint I used is an enamel type of paint. I find that the XF-1 enamel doesn't seem to give out the flat colour compare to acrylic type as the acrylic version has a little light on the flat black colour scheme. I might be wrong though unless there's a way to handle the acrylic colours.

Adrian, Have you been brush painting this on? You may find that the Tamiya acrylic paint dries with some sheen because of this, enamels are better for brush painting I find. I haven't tried Tamiya's enamel, only Humbrol, which does brush well too.
Tamiya's acylics are designed to be airbrushed on, some of the newer acrylics like Vallejo are also good for brush painting which is why the figure painting guys have used them so much.
