Throw it away, put a nice aftermarket $120 Pioneer head unit in there...you can get a wiring adapter so the install is plug and play, and a mounting kit that anyone can understand, they are very simple.

For $150 or less, you'd have a much better stereo than what you had.

Seems like usually the jap OE head units have cracked circuit board failures, not something you can readily repair...
