In my never-ending quest for all that is the McLaren F1 I have found something AMAZING this evening - I am literally doing a happy dance over here.
In several cases I thought stuff like this was lost to history and likely never to be seen, but here are a pair of images of Lawrence Stroll's F1 road car taken in 1997 at Mont Tremblant and still seen wearing its original blue paint.
According to my Canadian friend, that is a Quebec plate on the car which is very interesting considering what we know about the their vehicle importation laws being very strict. I still can't give up the chassis number of this one but I have a feeling with this detail most who care can now figure it out for themselves.
Thankfully there were some details included with the photos that made it clear whose car this was, otherwise I might have been fairly confused. The craziest part of all is that these images have been online since 2003 - how could they have been missed for so long? Google's algorithms must be getting better I guess.

Does make you wonder what else is out there still to be uncovered. There are a few other cars it would be nice to have original content on - #023 for sure, #046 as well, and more of #073 would be nice too. Finding something like this gives me hope that eventually we'll get lucky with them.
It is a shot in the dark, but I'm going to see if the source on these can send me larger versions or any other shots he may have snapped - that's if I can figure out how to reach him. For now enjoy those postcard-sized shots.
