If you hear on run at start up, then quit, and there is no "service suspension system" message on the dash, it's probably ok. Like I said eariler, you can spray the boots of the shocks with a soapy water mix and look for bubbles, if there are bubbles, the boot is leaking. Most of the problem I have seen with those is the exhaust valve on the compressor.
