The car has remote entry built into the key, but I'm wondering if it is a transponder key.

I'm confused.....is it a key with an attached key fob(keyless entry) or is this all built into the head of the key?

Look at your owner's manual......check out the theft system......If it is a PassLock system, then it is just a blank key.....
