Re: LANCIA STRATOS HF Doyusha 1:12 Alitalia
Dear Robi, ianc, all the others.........
thank you so very much for your comments! I'm overwhelmed.....
Therefore i will reply once again personaly.
ianc,
The labels are done with flat white 3M self adhesive tape, cut in thin stripes and pieces, labeled with dry stencillings in 1:35 scale from VERLINDEN productions, a leftover from my former military modeling times.
The streaks are carefully "scratched" in the VERY FRESH paint. It's important to do that immediately after airbrushing the windshield when the paint hasn't dried up completely. I use needles and dried brushes of various sizes and just draw the streaks out from the former masked area. That stimulates the water running away from the windshield wiper as a result of speed. BUT always try to imagine HOW and WHERE the water could have run!! (Car in high speed, more slow curves, in rest????) It seems that the effect works...........;-)
Hope this helps! Let me encourage you with what you are planning about your 917. Those cars are so much more "alive" with that realistic grade of patina, dirt and dust!!!!!!! Please do so.
All the best
Yours
jochen
