I've replaced a couple in my '97 GP but I guess it depends on which bran you choose for replacement.

All water pumps have a bleed hole with a seal just behind the pulley, when the seal goes bad coolant starts to leak through the bleed hole indicating the pump needs to be replaced. You'll need to take a close look at it in order to find out where the coolant is coming from.
