Nope, the latest generation is much too good a car for Ford to sell it here. It might degrade their rep of selling POS cars.
Did drive a 2.5 manual in early 2001 when I used to work for Ford and it's easily a better driver than any Ford brand car sold in the USA.
Reason going around that it wasn't coming state side because it was too close to the Taurus in size
