1993 Honda Civic (Fast and Furious)

First "Completed project" thread

First a message to all viewers:
This model project goes in some way dedicated to the AF modeling community, as I learnt a lot in just a month here, and many people answered all of my questions, and helped a lot, followed, encouraged, and gave support. It´s because of you that I could achieve such a result, far from what I expected. In short: thx a lot!

Now you can skip all this technical sheet and jump to pics if you want I´m not any good at taking pictures, but I think they pretty much can tell you about the car.
Note: I noticed a thin scratch to white on left door, just after I took the last picture . I´ll try to repair that. Any tips are appreciated.

About the car kit:
It´s a Revell Honda Civic 1993 Tuner Series REV2830 or 852830 not sure, built pretty much OOB.
Theme chosen was an obvious Fast and Furious first movie black Civic. The kit already includes EVERY option part so you can build the movie version (bumpers, wing, wheels, stock seats, stock tails, stock hood). The only missing here is one of the 3 original license plates. Also other optional parts are included for you to choose.

Only adds were:
- scratch built seatbelt buckles
- "suede" sheet for carpets
- first attempt to BMF the rear view mirror (and I still suck)

Still to do (but I consider it complete anyway):
- 1 of 3 license plates taken from the movie
- a display stand with green led under the chassis

Body paint and finish:
Whitening toothepaste with toothbrush (before and after each spray or polish upgrade).
Rust Oleum primer for plastics, about 3 coats, sanded last two.
Rust Oleum regular black paint, about 3 thins and a wet, sanded only when gritty texture.
Rust Oleum clear laquer (that green can labeled with a black chair), 2 mist and a wet, only polished at the end.
A variety of regular wetsandpaper from 600 up to 2500 grit
Mr Laplos polishing cloths 2400 4000 6000 8000 from Gunze Sangyo
Autopolish High Gloss (lustre intenso, a polishing compound cream, made and sold in Argentina, very cheap). I used cotton balls and Miyagi's technique.

Other paints were:
- Humbrol, Revell and Tamiya´s enamels through, AB´ed or brushed.
- Modelmaster by Testors acrylic black or silver, AB´ed or brushed.
- Gel markers (Uniball´s UM100)
- Black Sharpie for clear part window trim

WIP thread for this project:
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1065206

Pros of the kit:
- nice shape and fit overall, very acceptable detail level
- option parts
- lots of decals
- stock ride height is just right
- chrome finish is really acceptable

Cons:
- clear lens pins ruin the finish if not hard worked
- clear lens doesn´t fit perfectly and a lot of triming is needed
- wheel axles are different lenght, and is suggested to use them the long at front (long at back worked better for me)
- wipers molded on body
- tires fit is weird, I still cannot understand why

Thx for watching. Comments are wanted.
