Ferrari 612 Scaglietti

Hey fellows. I'm taking on a new project and my first Ferrari It's a Revell of Germany Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. They started producing these cars in 2004, and it was actually designed to replace the smaller Ferrari 456, which was stopped in production in 2003. The design of this car traces a little to the 1954 Ferrari 375 MM, especially for its headlights. The "612" in the name stands for a 6 liter, 12 cylinder engine, which gets the car to up to 196 mph. Scaglietti, is the name of a designer Sergio Scaglietti, who founded Carrozzeria Scaglietti as a car repair shop, and was couple blocks from Ferrari in Maranello. Then he gained trust of Enzo, and designed some of the world's best Ferraris such as the 1957 250 California Spider, 1958 250 Testa Rossa, 1962 250 GTO and more.

Ok, so I started with the body. It was fairly well, some minor mold lines above the tail lights and around each of the side windows. A bunch of mold circles inside the body, so you have to make sure to take care of those too.

I decided to make this one Nero (or black), so I laid a coat of gray primer to make sure of any missed mold lines etc.. Sanded those down and sprayed another coat of gray.

I was a little disappointed with hinges for the hood. First off, it does not fit on the hood at all, nor does the part fit on the body...So you can try using super glue to make it work, or make your own. I will be making my own hinges. However, the hood fits perfectly to the body!

Also, I test-fitted the back bumper, doesn't look like there is trouble with that.

Finally I primed most of the body color parts (the body, the hood, the back bumper, the mirrors), still have the head lights to go, but they're chrome and require stripping. Test fitted all the parts in parentheses.

Then I got to the wheels, they're in chrome which is a no no

So I stripped the chrome off....

And whoila! The wheels are done. I sprayed them with Testors Aluminum Metalizer, clear coated, placed on the Ferrari logos, and clear coated again

That's it for now. The PE parts are still on its way to me from UK so once I get those, hopefully I'll get a chance to start working on the engine. Top of the day to you guys.
