It wasn't intended as a point to discuss whether or not there is any benefit to it, more to do with how far ranging "scratch built" can be as a category unto itself. At the lower end such as in the example I gave, it is pretty much the same as a regular kit build once the initial mastering has been done.

And again, this was what I was alluding to when I mentioned how many categories can be drawn up if one was to be fair across the board.

I also can't see how you can say that someone who makes something doesn't deserve more credit than someone who buys something.
