Re: 2003 Focus - Keyless Entry

Ford Theft-Lock Key Cheat:

I'm a used car dealer, and I've been using this on Fords for many years.

The chip key must be carefully inserted into the receiver ring of the tumbler for the theft to be disabled and the car to start.

Make a few duplicate keys (without the chip).
Make sure the duplicate keys turn the ignition tumbler and open the doors/ trunk.
Remove the column shrowd(s).
Unhook the receiver ring (usually clipped in or held with one screw).
Stretch the wire and relocate the receiver to a place where it won't interfere with anything.
carefully position the chip key through the ring and secure it there in the same approximate position that the key would rest if it were mounted to the column. (I found that an old 35mm film case, hot glue and black tape work the best.)
Try the non-chip key in the ignition. If it doesn't start, reposition the chip key to the receiver.
Replace shrowd.

This has worked in Explorers, Expeditions, F-150's, Focus, Escapes, etc.
