There has been a lot said about using Hyundai/Kia SPIII transmission fluid in our cars. Some say that it's okay to use something else as long as it answers Hyundai specs AND it's replaced in a full flush and refill so there is no mixing of possibly incompatible fluids. That may be true, but I'm of the opinion that the factory stuff is best because that's what the people who made our cars put in there.
I did a pan drain and refill with slightly over 4.5 quarts in my '01 Santa Fe last summer and it made a surprising improvement in shift quality. I think that routinely doing this every year or two after about 80-100,000 miles is a good way to keep the fluid renewed with minimum work and expense.
