Re: Anyone work for a Toyota dealership or manufacturer
Well I work for an Automotive data research company. Which compiles all of the incentive data for every make, every car, for every region. We arent the only company of the sorts, there are quite a few.
It seems funny to me that as a General Sales Manager of a dealer youd rather be rude to a customer than work with them and sell a car. If they have the information and say, "well your offering $1500 dealer incentives, I will purchase this car right now if you can give me that", that you wouldnt work with them to help them out and still sell a car.
I understand no dealer is going to give away a car at cost. But when a customer comes in and says I know you can knock off another 500-2500 dollars off, so start knocking something off so i chose you over one of your competitors. Maybe if you would of played the game with some customers instead of being rude with your jokes, they would of bought from you.
If you are telling me you dont research the best possible prices when you buy anything, then you deserve to pay full price. Whether it be a washer from sears, a tv from best buy, or shoes from kohls. Everyone knows theres a markup, but if you dont attempt to get the best price available, you deserve to get screwed on the price. The American public has a right to know what incentives are offered on each vehicle.
So our company doesnt make people think they want to get the car down to cost so the dealer doesnt make a dime. No. It is to inform the public that there are certain incentives offered that will help them decide which make to go with depend on the incentives offered. And as you know as a general sales manager, most incentives change every month or so.
You would be suprised how many dealers love our information when they see a competitive analysis report showing their biggest competitors makes and the incentives offered in that specific region. So that when a customer comes in and says, "look i know your offering dealer cash, I also know that Ford, Hyundai, Kia, and Nissan are offering dealer cash, if you dont want my business, one of them will and they will make the sale and have 15+ thousand dollars profit at the end of the day, not you." Needless to say most sales managers play the game rather than let their competitors take their business.
My job is to find sources for the remaining makes that we dont have dealer incentives from, which we dont have many remaining that we dont have, as you can tell from my initial post, toyota.
Well, Have a good day.
