Yes I was a General Sales Manager at several dealerships, including one stint at Toyota, what did you want to know?

Yes there is a factory hold back, and no most dealers don't pay the salesman on it.

There are several web sites dealing with factory incentives. They change with the wind. Were you talking about customer incentives or dealer incentives?

Do you actually think a dealer will sell you a car at or close to his cost? Think again.

One thing that always bugged me was why do the customers think they have some kind of right to know what we pay for the car. They come in with some print out they paid for and demand we sell them the car for cost.

I used to ask them, "Which way did you come in sir?"

or...

"Sounds to me like you're looking for a good buy"

Well, "Good Bye"

When you go to Sears to buy a washer, do you have a right to know their cost?

The shoes you just bought at Kohl's might cost them $5 to produce in China and have a thousand percent mark up, but you still pay $49.95 on sale. Do they give you a discount just because you know or think you know their cost?

So, what would you like to know?
