You can get a boot kit for the leaking driveshaft. So long as the shaft is tight, with no sign of wear or damage, you can repack the joint with grease from the kit and install a new boot. Consider doing both boots on that ine driveshaft, though. Imo if one is gone the other is not far behind.
As for the roaring sound, that sounds like a bad wheel bearing/hub. It's fine to just replace one side. If you are planning to keep the van for a long time, go for a new hub. Imo it's not worth the hassle to mess with used hubs because you don't know how much life they have left.
