You are right on about the Jet A Fuel it is Karosin, and also has less combustion than Pump Gas. Not Good for anything but lamps!!
Now AviFuel is OK... It is nothing more than 100+ octane. It basically is not allowed to be Pump because the US likes Dirty gas, and 100+ Octain does well in Plains due to Altitude change.... I think it cost like $4 at the AirPort. You can also smell the difference in AviFuel and Jet A.
Race Fuel...the higher the octane the cleaner and hotter it burns. You cant dump a gallon of gas into a jar and light it with a cigerette. It has to have a bigger spark and a hotter gas to burn completly.
