Welcome NJICEMAN;

How many miles on vehicle??

If the rotor is not turning then the timing belt has probably broken. Did the engine stop running all of a sudden while driving or idling. These engines are NON-INTERFERENCE engines so if someone tells you that the engine has bent valves or such they do not know what they are speaking of. That does not happen on these engines.

If you are mechanically inclined it is not a hard job to replace just time consuming. Took me 8 to 9 hours to do mine. Including replacing water pump. You may want to replace water pump and thermostat ( Use a Nissan or Ford thermostat, too may problems with atermarket thermostats)at the same time.

On the top of the Villager Page there is a link for a Online Service Manual:

Any questions don't hesitate ton ask.
