Once again just like Tim said, ask them what they did. If they mention the clip tell them to show you the paper sheet with the procedure to adjust it and tell them that as far as you know that's a non-adjustable item.

I couldn't find a better image of the clip, it can be seen at the right and next to the bar code; and the linkage passes above the brake fluid reservoir. Thanks to Bob for the picture.
