Re: ferrari 458 italia

Nice work so far to correct and detail the kit...but I have to say, after building one of these myself and now having the Revell kit...

At least for anyone who has not purchased a 458 kit already...do not waste your time and money on the Fujimi kit! The Revell kit utterly destroys the Fujimi kit...in engine & chassis detail, especially interior detail. Not. Even. Close. All this work to correct the Fujimi kit is completely unnecessary with the Revell kit. The Revell kit even has a full, separate interior roof section...A pillar and headliner detail. Incredibly nice dash and door panel engraving. I'm sure Revell engineers laughed when they saw the sorry state of the Fujimi kit

Neither kit is perfect (Revell's tires are now rubber, but still too much sidewall...but Fujimi's 458 tires aren't good either), Revell's 458 looks by far their best Ferrari effort ever. Even body prep prior to painting is easier, the mold lines are fainter on the Revell kit (not to mention the molded mesh is deeper as well). Revell's glass installs like a real car from outside...Fujimi's glass is an old-fashioned glass tub that installs from inside.

Not to knock the effort of this particular build (because the Fujimi kit can look nice with the right effort), it's really a warning/suggestion to someone who has a choice of which kit to start with. I should have never wasted my money/time on the Fujimi...I paid the price because I had to have a model of the 458, and they really let me down with it because it is so inferior to their F430 and Scuderia kits, more in line with their half-hearted F355. Just sayin'...
