Re: 1941 Chevy pickup (barn find)
Next step is to apply the rusting solution where the iron surfacer is.
After the solution is applied place all the parts in a plastic bag and let sit over night.
when it comes out the model should be pretty well rusted. If there are spots however that dont look quite right, go over them again with the iron surfacer and repeat the process.
After the rusting was finished I decided to make the door and panel lines look real. So again with the cheap acrylics I made a mixture of brown and black. I panted the lines and wiped them clean. Also used it on other parts of the body to help with the fading paint effect. just like i did with the white and yellow mixture.
and the doors after the same step.
Next I got to work on the wood truck bed.
Started with the acrylics again (my new favorite paint) mixed yellow and orange, and painted the wood with it.
then i painted it with brown acrylic
masked off the wooden sections.
and after silver paint
After I added iron surfacer in places and the rustin solution this is what it looked like.
did the rims and tires with much of the same techniques.
and this is what it currently looks like.
Thanks for looking
