I own a 98 grand prix gt that came with the analog DIC, and recently bought a digital DIC from a 00 grand prix gt on eBay, or so it was claimed from a 00. I found the 24 pin connector for the DIC already in my dash tucked beside the glovebox. Plugged the digital DIC in, all lights came on like they should, including the screen. The problems began when the screen displayed zero's for all fields of measure. It stayed zero's while I drove around for approximately 100 miles over the next 3 days, and the screen promptly went black, never turning on again. The other backlights behind buttons still work and the "trac" indicators still light up, but the screen does not light up. I tested the backlights behind the screen and they still work. I am further concerned after reading in several places that 97 DICs are the only ones with a "check tire pressure" indicator, and the DIC I bought had this indicator. I also found out that 97 DICs don't work on 98-03 grand prix's and am wondering if anyone can make anything out of my problem.
