Hi everyone. Newbie here.

Looking to buy a used sedan for my girl and I to have here in Brooklyn. She requires only dependable basic transportation. I want that plus some performance. We'll spend about $4k and almost definitely buy from a private seller.

Looking at Infiniti I30 and Acura RL/TL from 99 to 01 mostly. Regarding mileage, what number starts to scare you guys? Most of what I've seen ranges from 90k (which sounds great) to 125k (kinda high) to 150k+ (scares me off).

We'll probably keep the car two years and put 25k on it. I'll do the best I can to gauge how the car's been used and maintained, but do you guys suggest a rule of thumb about when the risk of these things breaking down increases?
