Re: Still no 1/24 injection molded Porsche 997 kits?

Making scale model kits today it is a bad business, cause u have to fight with chinese die cast manifacturer.
Welly Porsche is really welldone, wellpainted and has tampo decals. All for more or less 15 euros.Readym build and ready also to be destroyed by happy kid.

A tamiya KIT will cost around 50 euros, the moulding is much more expensive, the client target is enthusiast modeller fanatics as we all are, welly target is 24h fuel station store always open and lovely for Kids.
The sales numbers comparison is unfair.Production numbers too. tamiya can make 50.000 boxes of it,and the HOPE they can sell it worldwide.
Welly is a sub-name of a giant chinese company specialized in producing die cast models (think the real name is Whong),selling millions of toys worldwide, with a starting average price that is less than 1 usd.

The battle is clearly unfair today for plastic static model kits.
Tamiya and others wellknow it, so they risk over subjects surely appreciated by THEIR people, as well as Revell germany always makes subjects used (or racing) in germany, as the last DTM wonderful car kits,or luftwaffe planes.

Ps. Mike, there is any website where we can see pictures of that show?
