If you can smell it it has a leak.
But small leaks are some times hard to find.
Is smell inside or outside?
They make a leak dye fluid for coolant for finding small leaks.
One main thing to watch is the engine oil for coolant in it.
The leak dye will how coolant in the oil.
Also small leaks one engine and rad.
Pressure test it and ckeck coolant system cold and warm and hot.
And watch for leak on underside of everything.
