Re: HELP,drug dealers 01 Town Car turns over wont start??

When the key is initially turned to the ON position, you should hear the fuel pump turn on for 2-3 seconds priming the fuel pressure. If you do not hear this, the fuel pump is dead or not receiving power.

The fuel cutoff switch clicks down when reset. You'd know if it was up and cut off.

Check the fuel pump fuse. It is the number one fuse (top left, 20 amp fuse) when looking at the engine bay fuse box from the passenger side fender. Check the voltage at the fuel pump. Try supplying 12v to the pump bypassing the computer. If you hear it, it's working. If not, it's toast.

The fuel pumps on these cars aren't hard to replace, you can do it yourself. If the fuel tank is under half full, it can be done without spilling a drop. You do not have to drop the tank.

If it really was poorly towed/lifted, there may be damage to other components or the frame. Make sure the frame is not damaged or bent. It can be a serious issue if it is. Make sure the charcoal canister under the trunk is not damaged either - this can cause fuel vapors to leak and fail emissions as well as being dangerous.
