Nope, too expensive. And if i combine both kits together, there would be a lot of waste leftover.
Might as well build the Fujimi kit box stock, save a lot more work and headache.
Anyway, i don't really like to buy Fujimi or Hasegawa kits, cause there is no indication whether the kits have engine detail or not (all description in Japanese ), while Tamiya kits with engine are easily recognisable with a picture of the model with the engine on the box. US brands are a no no (except Revell), lousy moulding, unrealistic brakes etc...

Well, you have your answer to your original question: its not likely anybody did convert a Tamiya Testarossa kit into a Koenig, because there already is a Fujimi Koenig Testarossa kit.
The Fujimi TR kit is kerbside with a one-piece engine top (just like their F40 kits), the Monogram TR kits have full engine details and are much better than you think.
As for headaches, I'd get more of a headache from converting the Tamiya TR body into a Koenig one than from cross-kitting a Fujimi and a Tamiya TR kit. When mixing A Fujimi and a Tamiya TR, you should end up with enough parts to build another TR model (albeit a kerbside one).
